Turin: Come For Business And Stay For Pleasure
February 7, 2009 · Print This Article
Turin is more business-oriented than other major Italian destinations. In fact, it’s likely you’ll find your way into one of its hotels for a business arrangement instead of a planned holiday.
It doesn’t mean, however, that a good time can’t be found in the city. While the people of Turn recognize the value of work, they pay special attention to the enjoyment of its fruits. Attuned to the finer pleasures of life, it can be an indulgent place to spend an evening, with great food and even better wine always available at its numerous commercial districts.
Grandiose and elegant cafes dot its busy streets and are your best bets to enjoying local fare. Wine bars offer amazing drinks and good company during aperitivo and well into the late night. Try Piazzo San Carlo where many of the locals congregate for their evening relaxation.
Turin claims to be the site of the first chocolate and has a 1678 patent to prove it. Not to be missed are the famous giandujotto chocolates, sold at the factory in Via Cagliari. Call in advance and you can watch while your sweet treat gets made in traditional machines.
